私の陶芸家としての制作は、実験と文化人類学への関心を基盤としています。
野生の粘土や砂、岩石、鉱物などを自ら採取し、加工することを楽しみながら、その土地の記憶を宿す独自の土を作り出しています。
私は古代の技法や、さまざまな文化がどのように手仕事を通して生活そのものを形づくってきたのかということに深い興味を抱いています。
器は単なる器ではありません。そこには物語や儀式、そしてアイデンティティが宿っています。
工芸とは装飾ではなく、手を通して記憶や意味を受け継いでいく行為なのです。
私の作品は、いわば「実験的で未来志向の考古学」のようなものです。
一つ一つの作品は実験の記録であり、古代の知恵と現代の探究が交差する地点に生まれるドキュメントでもあります。
今回のレジデンスでは、日本の工芸や文化への探究をさらに深めたいと考えています。
それは単に陶芸の技法だけでなく、日本がどのように「手仕事」そのものを捉えているのかという視点も含みます。
そしてこの新しい土地の風景や環境が、作品を通して語りかけてくる声に耳を傾けたいと思っています。

My work as a ceramicist is rooted in experimentation and cultural anthropology. I enjoy sourcing and processing my own materials like wild clays, sand, rocks, and minerals, forging unique bodies that carry the memory of the landscape.

Deeply intrigued by ancient techniques and how cultures drew their very life through craftsmanship. The vessel was never just a vessel. It held story, ritual, and identity. Craftsmanship was not decoration, it was the transmission of memory and meaning through the hands. My work is a form of experimental/futuristic archaeology. Each piece is a document of experiment, a convergence of ancient wisdom and contemporary exploration.

During this residency, I hope to deepen my exploration of Japanese craftsmanship and culture—not only in clay, but in how Japan sees craftsmanship itself—and allow the new landscape to speak through the work.”
