Elena Palomo is a Finnish-Spanish sculptor working primarily in clay. Her hand-built sculptures draw from bodily abstraction, ritual form, and the tactile intelligence of natural structures. Rooted in hand-building and refined through carving, her practice is guided by gesture, asymmetry, and the physical logic of the material. Each work emerges through a process of building, reduction, and refinement, revealing forms that feel corporeal, elemental, and animate.
Her biomorphic sculptures draw from anatomy, ancient artefacts, and the formal language of natural structures. Interested in tactility, presence, and the visible trace of the hand, she approaches clay as a material that records touch and carries memory. Her work explores form as a carrier of atmosphere, emotional resonance, and latent life.
Working across sculpture, installation, and atmosphere, she often combines form with sound and scent to extend the work beyond its physical edges and into a more sensorial, embodied encounter.
