チ・ユン・チョン（Ji Yoon Chung） は、ドローイング、写真、彫刻、デジタルファブリケーションを用いて活動する学際的なアーティストです。彼女は、目に見えない現象を物質的な形へと変換することをテーマに制作を行っています。
その作品は、私たちが日常の中で見過ごしがちな小さな変化や移り変わり、気づかれずに忘れ去られてしまう瞬間に焦点を当てています。特に「身ぶり（ジェスチャー）」を感情や感覚が現れる場として捉えながら、彼女の制作には一貫した緊張関係が存在しています。それは、儚いものを留めておきたいという衝動と、移ろいゆく現象が必然的に消えていくことを受け入れる姿勢とが、互いに衝突しながらも共存しているということです。
チョンは、アメリカの にてDigital+Mediaの修士号（MFA）を取得し、さらに にてLearning Design, Innovation, and Technologyの教育学修士号（M.Ed）を取得しました。現在は の教育学博士課程に在籍しています。
これまでにアイスランドでのアーティスト・イン・レジデンスに参加し、レイキャビク、アルバカーキ、ボストン、プロビデンス、ソウルなどで個展やグループ展を開催・発表してきました。
Ji Yoon Chung is an interdisciplinary artist working with drawing, photography, sculpture, and digital fabrication as modalities for converting an immaterial phenomenon into material form. Her work attends to insignificant transitions, moments that are often taken for granted, unnoticed, and forgotten. Interested in gestures as a site of affect, Chung traces the persistent tension at the heart of her practice: the impulse to preserve ephemerality and the concession of a transitory phenomenon’s inevitability collide and coexist.
Chung holds an MFA in Digital+Media from Rhode Island School of Design and an M.Ed in Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology from Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is currently a PhD Candidate in Education at McGill University. She has participated in artist residencies in Iceland and presented solo and group exhibitions in Reykjavík, Albuquerque, Boston, Providence, and Seoul.
