以下アーティストからのメッセージです。

これら3つの相互につながる作品は、「気づくこと」「応答すること」「還ること」という行為を通して、ケアについて探求しています。

手縫いで制作されたアーティストブック『The Place Remembers Itself（場所はそれ自身を記憶する）』は、日本のトキの帰還と「里帰り」という考えに着想を得て、土地がいかに自らを記憶しているのかを見つめます。

おみくじの伝統から着想を得た折り紙のフォーチュンには、「誰があなたのケアを必要としていますか？」「あなたは何を返すことができますか？」といった問いが記され、鑑賞者に内省を促します。また、昆虫や鳥、植物を撮影した写真に、新旧の技術を組み合わせたコラージュ作品を通して、人間以外の生きものたちとの静かな出会いに敬意を表しています。

縫うこと、折ること、歩くこと、そして写真を撮ること。これらの作品は、ゆっくりと時間をかけて周囲に意識を向けることへと私たちを誘います。

ケアは、まず「気づくこと」から始まり、人間を超えた世界との関係のなかで育まれていく。それは、どんなに小さな気づきであっても、互いに与え、返し合う行為になり得ることを示唆しています。

These three interconnected works explore care through acts of noticing, reciprocity and return.

A hand-stitched artist’s book, The Place Remembers Itself, inspired by the return of the Japanese Toki and the idea of satogaeri (returning home), reflects on how place remembers itself. Folded paper fortunes, drawing on the tradition of omikuji, invite reflection through questions such as Who needs your care? and What can you return? Alongside these, photographs of insects, birds and flora, collaged with old and new technologies, honour quiet encounters with the more-than-human world.

Through stitching, folding, walking, and photographing, these works invite a slower way of paying attention. They suggest that care begins with noticing and grows through our relationships with the more-than-human world, where even the smallest acts of attention become gestures of reciprocity.
