MoJo（モジョ）について
MoJoは南アフリカ・ヨハネスブルグを拠点に活動するアーティスト兼イラストレーターです。
彼女の主な制作テーマは、さまざまな動物たちを擬人化して描くこと。鮮やかな色彩や模様、物語性を織り交ぜながら、ユーモアと遊び心にあふれた作品を生み出しています。
お気に入りの言葉は、 「この世界の恐ろしさを生き抜くためには、私たちは遊び心を失ってはいけない。」 ― 作者不詳
今回の武雄でのレジデンスでは、『Wish Full』というタイトルの折り鶴作品を制作します。Instagramのフォロワーや家族、友人、そして見知らぬ人々から寄せられた「願いごと」を、一羽一羽の折り鶴に描いていくプロジェクトです。
完成した折り鶴たちは、大きな一枚の紙の上を舞うように配置され、10月下旬に糸島で開催される成果発表展で展示される予定です。
また、武雄周辺で出会う動物や昆虫たちにも注目し、それらを楽しくユーモラスな擬人化作品へと描き起こしていく予定です。

MoJo is a South Africa artist and illustrator from Johannesburg, South Africa. Her main practice is creating anthropomorphic animals of all sorts. During her residency in Takeo, she will be working on an origami crane piece – entitled ‘Wish Full’, painting ‘wishes’ from followers, family, friends and strangers These cranes will fly on a large sheet of paper and is set to be completed for the final exhibition in Itoshima in late October. Aside from this, she will be on the lookout for animals and insects around Takeo to transform into joyful anthropomorphic art.
