Melody Hesaraky（メロディ・ヘサラキー）は、イラン生まれ、ニューヨーク・ブルックリンを拠点に活動するマルチディシプリナリー・アーティスト、ディレクター、テキスタイルデザイナーです。4歳から芸術に親しみ、イギリス・ブライトン大学で3Dデザイン＆マテリアル・プラクティスの学士号（BA Hons）を取得。その後、アメリカ・サンフランシスコのAcademy of Art Universityでテキスタイルデザインの修士号（MFA）を修了しました。
絵画、テキスタイル、映像、音楽、ファッションなど、多様な分野を横断する彼女の制作は、既存のジャンルや固定的なカテゴリーにとらわれません。性別や国籍、文化的背景といったアイデンティティの枠組みに縛られるのではなく、人間同士を結びつける普遍的なつながりを探求しています。国際的な視点と素材への深い感性をもとに、人と人との対話や共感、相互理解を育むための新たな視覚言語を生み出しています。
また、現代社会に存在する分断や固定化された分類をやわらげ、多様性や繊細さ、そして互いのつながりが共存できる場を作品を通して提示しています。
アーティスト・ステートメント
私は、視覚芸術、身体表現、音楽、そしてファッションが交差する領域で制作を行い、リズム、振動、記憶、そしてエネルギーを探求する没入的な視覚言語を生み出しています。
私の絵画は、緻密で反復的な筆致によって構成されており、そのリズムは音や自然界に存在する「周波数」を思わせます。こうした反復は時間の記録となり、静かに積み重ねられた身振りの集積として、消費されるためではなく、じっくりと向き合い、思索するための空間を生み出します。
スピードと絶え間ない刺激によって特徴づけられる現代社会において、私の作品はそれとは異なる時間の流れを提案します。鑑賞者にゆっくりと立ち止まり、細部に目を向け、持続的な観察を通して「今、この瞬間」に存在することを体験してほしいと願っています。一見すると複雑な画面は、時間をかけて見ることで少しずつ姿を現し、忍耐の先に新たな発見をもたらします。そして、知覚、身体、環境のあいだにある繊細な関係性への気づきを促します。
日本でのレジデンスでは、その土地が持つ精神性を尊重しながら、「忍耐」「今ここにいること（プレゼンス）」「私たちに共通する人間性」を軸とした異文化間の対話を育む作品を制作したいと考えています。

Melody Hesaraky is an Iranian-born, Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist, director, and textile designer whose lifelong engagement with art began at the age of four. She holds a BA (Hons) in 3D Design & Material Practice from the University of Brighton, UK, and an MFA in Textile Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
Working across disciplines, Melody Hesaraky has developed a practice that resists fixed categories and conventional definitions. Rather than being confined by identity markers such as gender, nationality, or cultural boundaries, her work explores the universal threads that connect human experience. Informed by an international perspective and a deep sensitivity to materiality, she creates visual languages that foster dialogue, empathy, and shared understanding.
Her practice seeks to soften the divisions and rigid classifications that shape contemporary society, offering spaces where complexity, vulnerability, and interconnectedness can coexist.
Artist Statement:
Working at the intersection of visual art, movement, music, and fashion, I create immersive visual languages that explore rhythm, vibration, memory, and energy. My paintings are composed of intricate, repetitive mark-making that echoes the frequencies found in sound and the natural world. These patterns become records of time. Quiet accumulations of gestures that invite contemplation rather than consumption.
In a culture increasingly defined by speed and constant stimulation, my work offers an alternative rhythm. It asks viewers to slow down, to look closely, and to experience presence through sustained observation. The density of each composition reveals itself gradually, rewarding patience with discovery and encouraging a deeper awareness of the subtle relationships between perception, body, and environment.
My intention during my residency in Japan is to create work that honors the spirit of place while cultivating a cross-cultural dialogue rooted in patience, presence, and our shared humanity.
