サンティアゴ・クビデス（Santiago Cubides）はコロンビア出身のビジュアルアーティストです。マドリード・コンプルテンセ大学で美術学士号を取得した後、同大学で「現代視覚芸術の理論と実践」修士課程および「芸術・創作・研究」公式修士課程を修了しました。
これまでコロンビア、スペイン、イタリア、メキシコ、フランス、日本、イギリス、ベネズエラで作品を発表し、数多くの展覧会やプロジェクトに参加。2023年にはボゴタのゲレーロ芸術アカデミー主催「全国絵画サロン」で名誉賞を受賞しています。
2022年にはフランス・バザンクールの Ouvre les Yeux 協会でアーティスト・イン・レジデンスに参加。さらに2024年、イドアルテスの「全国芸術レジデンス公募（視覚芸術部門）」および「視覚芸術―リソグラフィ・レジデンス」奨学金を、《現実の年代記はセルフサービス式のフリーバーのようだ》というプロジェクトで獲得しました。
同じく2022年、人類学者フェルナンド・ウルビナ著『Boca de Maguaré』（Editorial Monigote 刊）のイラストを担当。この書籍は2024年、ベネズエラ Banco del Libro による児童・青少年図書賞のユース部門最優秀賞に輝きました。
また、スペインの映画賞「フェロス賞 2022」では、アイノア・ロドリゲス監督『Destello Bravío』のポスターで最優秀ポスター賞にノミネート。スペインではアムネスティ・インターナショナルとの協働展示も行い、コンプルテンセ大学基金から依頼を受け、同大学「若手視覚芸術賞」の授賞記念としてシルクスクリーン作品を制作しました。
アーティスト、研究者、教育者として視覚芸術に携わる彼は、現在ボゴタに拠点を置き、SGR Gallery（ボゴタ）に所属しながら独自の芸術活動を展開しています。
Santiago Cubides is visual artist from Colombia, graduated from the Complutense University of Madrid, where he studied the Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and later studied a Master’s degree in Theory and Practice of Contemporary Visual Arts and an Official Master’s degree in Art, Creation, and Research.
Santiago has developed artistic projects and participated in exhibitions in Colombia, Spain, Italy, Mexico, France, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Venezuela. In 2023, he received an honorable mention at the National Painting Salon of the Guerrero Arts Academy (Bogotá, Colombia).
In 2022, he participated in an artistic residency at the Ouvre les Yeux Association in Bazancourt, France, and in 2024, he won the Scholarship of the National Artistic Residences Call in Visual Arts and Visual Arts – Risographic Residency of Idartes with the project “The Chronicles of Reality are like a Free Bar with Self-Service.”
In 2022, he participated as an illustrator in the realization of the book Boca de Maguaré, written by anthropologist Fernando Urbina and edited by Editorial Monigote, which won the award for best book for children and young people at the Banco del Libro de Venezuela 2024 in the Youth Category.
He was nominated for Best Poster at the 2022 Feroz Film Awards in Spain for the poster of the film Destello Bravío by director Ainhoa Rodríguez.
In Spain, he had the opportunity to carry out an exhibition work with Amnesty International. He was also chosen to create a screen printing edition for the Complutense Foundation of the Complutense University of Madrid, with the aim of delivering it as an award at the Young Visual Arts Award of the UCM.
Santiago has worked in the Visual Arts as an Artist, Researcher, and Teacher.
Currently, Santiago is represented by SGR Gallery (Bogotá), lives and works in Bogotá, where he develops his artistic proposal.
