ARTS ITOYAでは、Jups Kluyskens（オランダ）による滞在制作発表展「Yorimichi」を開催します！ 2か月のレジデンス期間を通してJupsが制作した最新作を展示いたします。

以下アーティストからのメッセージです。

ARTS ITOYAでの最後の1か月間、私は木版画やさまざまな主題・素材についてさらに探究を深めました。長崎で目にしたさまざまな魚のシリーズ（なんて素晴らしい街でしょう！）に心を奪われ、そのテーマを日本藍のドローイングや陶芸作品、さらには魚のフィギュアによるペルペトゥウム・モビーレ（永久機関）の制作へと発展させました。日本藍への私の敬愛はますます深まっており、陶芸への応用も含めて探究を続けています。一生分と言ってよいほどの藍を持ち帰るつもりです。
魚というテーマはもちろん非常に古くからあるものですが、日本文化にも深く根付いています。このテーマは、形や色、さまざまな素材を探究する機会を私に与えてくれます。まさに新しい章が始まったのです。そして九州とARTS ITOYAが、その機会を私に与えてくれました。
それは決して驚きではありません。私は水が大好きで、泳ぐことを日課にしています。もしかすると私は魚の生まれ変わりなのかもしれませんね。誰にも分かりませんが。

During my last month at Arts ITOYA, I have further explored woodblock prints and different subjects and mediums. I was fascinated by different fish series I saw in Nagasaki (what a wonderful city!) and pursued the theme in Japanese Indigo drawings, some ceramics and making a perpetuum mobile of fish figures. My appreciation of Japanese Indigo continues to grow, including application in ceramics. I will be taking home enough of it to last me a lifetime.
The fish theme is of course very old but also deeply rooted in Japanese culture. It provides me with opportunities to explore shape, color and different types of materials. Indeed, the new chapter has begun, and Kyushu and Arts Itoya granted me the opportunity.
It is not a real surprise: I love water, I am a swimmer and perhaps I am an incarnation of a fish! Who knows.
