ミシェル・ベルジョルノは、シドニーを拠点に活動するアーティストで、絵画、セラミック彫刻、布製のコラボレーションインスタレーションなど、さまざまなメディアを通じて作品を制作しています。ベルジョルノは日本文化を深く愛しており、10代の時に交換留学生として初めて訪れて以来、何度も訪れ、日本語の維持にも努めています。
アーツイトーヤでの滞在中、ベルジョルノは武雄地域及びその周辺のエッセンスを「アンプレナール」（屋外制作）で、水性メディアを使用してコンサーティーナスケッチブックに捉えようと試みます。

Michelle Belgiorno is a Sydney-based artist working across various media including painting,
ceramic sculpture, and fabric-based collaborative installations.
Belgiorno has a deep love of Japanese culture, first visiting as an exchange student in her
teens and having maintained the language and visiting numerous times since.
During her residence at Arts Itoya, Belgiorno will try to capture something of the essence of
Takeo and the surrounding area, working “en plein air” using water-based media on
concertina sketchbooks.
