Seesha Takagishi is a Japanese American painter and textile artist. She lives and works in San Francisco, CA and was the 2023 recipient of the APICC USAAF grant. Takagishi is also the founder of the Family Style Collective, an Asian American arts collective focused on using creative expression to explore cultural identity.
Her paintings explore the liminal space occupied by individuals with a mixed-race background, and the challenge this presents to create bridges between cultures. Her art also highlights the efforts of younger generations of Asian Americans to define, celebrate, and evolve their own culture, through illustrating intentional communities and capturing everyday beauty.
