Sierra Sanchez is a multidisciplinary artist based in Boston, USA, who creates oil paintings, experimental films and electronic music inspired by stories from their life, culture, and Japanese/Filipino family histories. Their allegorical and symbolic work explores concepts of artmaking as memory and recollection, the process of reclaiming lost histories, and expressions of queer and mixed-race identity as unifying forces. In 2019, Sanchez received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus in painting from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and has exhibited their work widely in Dallas, Texas, and Providence, Rhode Island.
