Ray LC（レイ・エルシー）の実践は、私たちが〈過去〉をどのように理解し／誤解しているかを手がかりに、〈未来〉の視点から自分自身を眺め直す試みです。レイは、ダンスの制約された身体表現から生成系AIを用いたスペキュラティブ・デザインに至るまで、時代ごとのテクノロジーが創造性に与える影響に強い関心を寄せています。こうした「適応」の物語を、映像インスタレーション、大型ロボティクス、イマーシブ・メディア、参加型デザインなど多彩なフォーマットで提示し、神経科学（Nature Communications）とHCI（CHI、CSCW、HRI、DIS）の研究成果を制作背景として取り込んでいます。

学歴は、カリフォルニア大学バークレー校電気工学・計算機科学学部（B.S.）、UCLA神経科学博士（Ph.D.）、パーソンズ美術大学デザインテクノロジー学科（MFA）。受賞歴には、日本学術振興会、Verizon Connected Futures、Adobe Design Award、Kone Foundation、Davis Peace Foundation、Lumen Prize、New York Foundation for the Arts、香港芸術発展局、香港研究助成局などがあります。また、空間叙事のための研究所「Studio for Narrative Spaces」を設立しています（https://recfro.github.io/）。
RAY LC’s practice probes how we see ourselves from perspectives of the future, given how we currently understand and (mis)interpret our own past. RAY is fascinated by how humans express their creativity under differing constraints of technologies of the past and present, from grounded movements of dance performance to speculative design with GenAI. RAY tells these stories of adaptation via video installation, large scale robotics, immersive media, and participatory design, taking insight from his own research in neuroscience (Nature Communications) and HCI (CHI, CSCW, HRI, DIS). RAY has a B.S. in EECS-Math (Cal-Berkeley), Ph.D. in Neuroscience (UCLA), and MFA in Design Technology (Parsons).
